Geometric #1

Well, the Tea Party is over!  We are moving on to "Geometric" designs in the Nail Challenge Collaborative this month!  Now, this is a pretty broad category - which I am thankful for!  I went through my stamp images and there are a ton to choose from!

It is still summer and I wanted a bright look this week.  I just picked blindly in my untried swatch-cicle stash for some colors.  I picked a pretty yellow and found an orange color to compliment it.
I am so glad I bought all of the Mundo de Unas polishes!  There is a color for every occasion!
  • Pure Ice Poker Face
  • Pure Ice Unzip Me
  • MDU Orange
  • BM- 203 (stamp image)
After my typical base coat, I put one coat of Milani White on my nails before 2 coats of Unzip Me.  I added a layer of Seche Vite before beginning the gradient.  Did you see the gradient?  It is really subtle (and I like that) with orange at the tips.  I used a make-up sponge to get the gradient look.  It took about 3 layers to get to where I wanted it.  Another layer of Seche Vite before stamping.
I will say that I was going to use another image on this plate at first but it was too angular and I wanted a little softer of an image so I chose this one.  I love it!  It is a cross between gears, flowers, and maybe a washer or something?  I think it came out beautiful!  MDU is just so wonderful to stamp with too!  The image comes out so crisp!  Once the stamping was done, I finished it all off with a final layer of Seche Vite for the shine.
This month is sure to be really interesting with the mani's the ladies will choose!  Be sure to take a look at them!
