Catching Up: Bubbles Of Teal

I had just gone to Walgreens for the $.99 Sinful Colors sale and needed to paint my nails.  I didn't want to do anything too complicated and just chose two from the haul to use.  I don't typically do this as I am super anal retentive about getting my polishes swatched and logged in to my spreadsheet and the swatchcicles put into the pool of "untrieds" to be thoroughly vetted and selectively chosen... Yep, I am weird.  It is a process and I am pretty sure I am not the only one with this sickness.  LOL

  • Sinful Colors Nice Stems
  • Sinful Colors Beatnick
Who remembers this ouchie on my middle finger?  That hurt so bad!  This was just after it happened.  Fortunately, it didn't hang around too long.  Don't mind the tip wear...I took photos 2 days after I did this one.
I used 2 coats of Nice Stems to start on all of my fingers except my ring finger where I painted one coat of that followed by 2 coats of Beatnick.  I then put a layer of Seche Vite on all of my nails before stamping.  I used Beatnick to stamp Pueen 55 from the Buffet collection.  Another layer of Seche Vite wrapped it all up!

Catching Up: Easter

Yes, this is how far behind I am on my blogging.  :(  It is summer and I still need to post about my Easter nails.  LOL!

  • Milani Almond Bliss
  • Pure Ice Nude Beach
This Milani polish is a dream!  It applied so nicely that I have considered using it as my go-to undie polish.  But, I would hate to waste the loveliness of it underneath something else.  Oh, the dilemma's of a nail polish lover.
I started with 2 coats of the Almond Bliss and sealed it with a layer of Seche Vite.  Once that was completely dry I used some painters tape to stripe off some sections.  I then painted 2 coats of Nude Beach over the tape.  I worked one nail at a time so I could remove the tape while the polish was still wet to get better lines.  Another layer of Seche Vite to finish it off.  I added the chic to my pinkie.  These are so thick that it took at a lot of maneuvering to get it to curve to my nail so it would stay.  2 more layers of Seche Vite on that nail to keep it there!
These lasted a week so all of that Seche Vite paid off!
I loved this color combo!

Catching up: Lilac Lovliness

I might just love purple more than pink.  Did I just say that out loud?  It is really hard to choose sometimes!  This mani is a simple purple gradient.  That's it...nothing too fancy.  BUT, I loved it!
  • Ulta Tutu Cute
  • Some unknown polish
  • Ulta Vintage Violet
I used Milani White as an undie to make the colors vibrant and began sponging on layers until I got the desired effect.  Topped with a coat of Seche Vite and it's done.  :)

Catching up: Pinky Sweet

I really love a pink polish - any pink polish.  I have so many of them that I have to use them frequently.  Sometimes, I just reach in and grab a couple of them from my swatch-stick bin and go.  You know how much I love a gradient so that is what I attempted to do this time.
  • Revlon Strength Of Pink
  • China Glaze Pink Voltage
  • Orly Pink Flakie Topcoat
The photos really don't do much for what this looked like in person!  This kind of looks like a hot mess but there was a gradient there and it didn't look too bad.  It isn't my favorite mani but it was nice and bright for the rainy days we had in April.
It's pink and I liked it...

Catching up with "Dancing Nails"

For the first time since mid-March, I am not at work!  It is a small miracle but I had to get at least one blog post done amongst my cleaning plans for the day.  I have quite a few manicures that I need to blog about so I will be throwing these out there sporadically.

The first one I have for you is from the end of March sometime.  I feel like I don't give my red polishes enough attention so I wanted to do something with them.  I love it when things come together with very little effort!  That is how I roll these days - just find something easy to do!
  • Orly Rockin' Rockette
  • Sinful Colors Dancing Nails
What are the chances that two polishes from my "red" swatch-stick bin would be a great pair and they both have dancing themed names?  Too funny - yes, I find humor in the little things!
Two coats of Dancing Nails on all nails except my ring finger where there is 2 coats of Rockin' Rockette.  Both polishes work great and I had no trouble with application.  I then put on a coat of Seche Vite to seal it up.
I used Rockin' Rockette to stamp a nice swirly pattern on all of the nails.  The stamp is Pueen 46.
One final coat of Seche to seal it all up and this is one perfect "work" mani.  I am lucky enough that I can pretty much wear what ever I want polish-wise at work, but this one was quite lovely.
